Mileti Swimwear: Fashionable and Chic at the beach!

As bright as I am in my dress sense,I have to admit that there is one part of my wardrobe where I usually stick to black and simple; i.e. my swimwear. Yup if you see me at the beach, I’ll be the one with plain black bikini and an over-the-top floppy hat to make up for that lack of my colour and character in my swimwear!

Somehow and somewhere in the past few years, I concluded that when it comes to swimwear, less is more. Not in terms of fabric of course (I’m no fan of Brazilian bikinis!!!) but more to do with style and embellishment. Although rightfully suitable for summer, I feel that too much patterns and ornaments tend to make swimwear less flattering, unpractical and uncomfortable especially when I’m using the swimming pool in my residence. It just feels awkward.

But black is not ideal too so it was time to find an alternative especially that I’m planning on visiting the nearby islands for a relaxing holiday sometime soon! And it was home-grown label Mileti which finally got it right in terms of chic and functional swimwear.

Love this Mileti statement one-piece which brings the colour blocking trend
to the beach!

Colourful, stylish and spot on with this season’s colour-blocking trend, the ladies behind Mileti, Min and Letizia, have managed to create a SS2012 collection which is interesting, fun and well-priced. From colourful 2-piece swimwear which are simple and tasteful to neon hued statement one-pieces which are extra flattering and sexy!

I especially love the modest corset-inspired khaki and black maillot with a detachable halter-neck (also available in black and turquoise) which is appropriate and not too flesh flashing for someone who just wants to chill by the pool. I also like the colour combination which is unusual for swimwear and reflects nicely on tanned skin.

The subtle colours and design of this one-piece maillot makes it perfectly
suitable for poolside lounging

Hot colours like this neon pink (and blue and orange below)are so on trend
for this Spring/Summer season!

Other fun two-pieces come in hues like turquoise, orange and pink. For my holiday I would pick the statement pink strapless one-piece with orange strappy back. It is fun and sexy at the same time! And for those who love a little shine and more jazzed up style, there are few pieces in a gold-ish hue, toned down by khaki or black, and a one shoulder zebra print bodysuit.

Mileti is stocked at retailers and online shops across the globe, amongst which are ERIIN.com and shopthemag.com in Singapore. (click herefor full list)
Prices start at S$140.

Zebra on the beach?

Bling-y but not over the top, I love the simple design of this bikini and its khaki
top which balance the shine on the bottom.

Zebra print and bright colours mix very well!
