You know someone is serious about foot candy when the
company is called Surrealist Love Scene AND they throw a party called ‘we want
beautiful shoes!’
Apart from having the best name in Asian fashion since
Indonesia’s Nipples Revolt, these guys are also hosting the best event in town,
and one which I’ll be marking down on my calendar.
So don’t fret if you miss it this time around. The ‘We Want
Beautiful Shoes’ party will take place every 3 months for a whole weekend.
Basically imagine yourself as Alice in Wonderland, only
here, you’re surrounded by the most fanciful shoes you’ll see around town and
all the signs should say ‘wear me’ or ‘buy me’.

The party, which is on until Sunday, is also to celebrate
the launch of wearto.com, the online store which will be carrying a variety of
labels, amongst which is one of my favourite shoe labels, Irregular Choice.
As the local distributer of Irregular Choice and other labels,
Fiona who is the co-founder of Surrealist Love Scene wanted to a way to deal
with customers directly as well as through stockists and the idea on the online
e-tailer wearto.com came to be as a result.
Other labels which will be on wearto.com (launching this
weekend!) are Poetic License shoes from London, 72SMALLDIVE accessories and
bags from Italy and Singapore labels Nicholas and Saturday for clothing, and
Shito shoes (remember it here?) which will be retailing exclusively on the
site!
The styles – especially shoes- you’ll find here are nothing
like what you normally see around. There is hardly any black or plain pair in
town. It’s all about fantasy-like, fun and creative shoes which are guaranteed
to make you smile.
The showroom was seriously exploding with colours and
patterns and a countless pairs caught my eyes! But my favourites have to be the
ice-cream cone heel sandals, the unusual bridal shoes from Irregular Choice and
a beautiful – and a comparatively understated – pink and red pair from Shito
which sadly I forgot to snap on camera :-(

boundaries, this might just be the place for you. I know I will be swooning
