Finally the F1 weekend is in town!
And while hubby will be swooning over those ‘gorgeous cars' and revelling in high octane action and big boys toys, the whole weekend for me will be about the glitz which accompanies the most glamorous sport in the world.
There’s no denial that this is the ultimate party weekend in Singapore, and parties to me mean one thing – dressing up!
So whether you're swanning around at the Fashion TV party, sashaying at the Ferrari Red Party or heading to the super exclusive Amber Lounge, there is sure to be more than one outfit making an appearance. But what do you do if you look in your wardrobe and look in horror at the bare space staring back at you.
Who could help you out in such a 'nothing to wear' crisis at the start of the most glamorous weekend in Singapore?
Well Zardoze, a Singaporean label which launched two weeks ago – just in time for the races – is doing glamour like I’ve never seen here before for the exception of the exquisite Ashley Isham.
There are full on ball gowns here, including the Helen red bustier gown with 500 diamonds. But not all are overly decadent and embellished, this is mainly their Panthea collection - which inspired by epic women in history and mythology, especially the Persian Panthea herself - also includes a few shorter length frocks and long flowing gowns in beautiful shades which scream femininity and glamour.
My favourites though have to be the garments from their ready-to-wear collection which would be perfect for this season’s parties and functions. I especially like the cocktail dresses with minimal neck embellishment and the jumpsuits which are trendy and chic at the same time, without being OTT.
Not all the dresses were a hit but overall I think Zardoze does serve a certain niche which I always found missing when it comes to the local designers’ scene. It is meant for sophisticated society women or anyone who has a party to attend and isn’t afraid to dress up for a change.
So if you’re heading to one of the big parties in town this weekend and you’re short of that head-turning dress, head down to Robinsons and pick up one of Zardoze's creations and show off that goddess in you!
I will be attending two parties this weekend. But for those wanting to stalk, sorry, I won't tell you which ones. Feel free to come up and say hi if you see me though :-)
Enjoy the race!!
Zardoze Ready-to-Wear line is available at Robinsons Marina Bay Sands and Centrepoint. You can check the Zardoze Facebook page here or check out Zardoze's YouTube channel here.
